Contributing To The Delinquency of a Minor

In Virginia, it is illegal for any person over the age of 18 to contribute to, encourage, or cause any act, omission or condition which renders a child delinquent, in need of services, in need of supervision or abused and neglected.  It is also a crime to have consensual sexual intercourse with a child over the age of 15.  If the sexual intercourse is with a child under the age of 15, the person may be guilty of another crime classified as sexual assault.
