A 22-year-old man was released after posting bond in a hit-and-run crash that killed another man.
According to officials, Michael Charles Dalton, 22, hit a 30-year-old man riding a scooter in Rockville early Thursday morning.
The accident occurred near Edmonston Road and Rockville Pike just before 1:30 a.m. Thursday. Police said he dragged the scooter for about a mile with the scooter lodged under his front bumper before officials stopped him.
Dalton was initially held on a $1 million bond, which was reduced to $15,000 Friday. His next hearing is scheduled for November 21.
Dalton is facing several charges including failure to immediately stop vehicle at scene of accident involving death, failure to immediately return and remain at scene of accident involving death and failure of vehicle driver in accident to report death to nearest police.
