A Maryland man faces child abuse charges after he left his two young children inside a car when he went into a Wal-Mart Tuesday.
According to reports, Anisur Rahman, 41, of Point of Rocks, left his 4-year-old and 5-month-old inside a car for about 20 minutes. Temperatures were about 24 degrees, with wind chills making it feel like 11 degrees.
A Wal-Mart employee saw the children in the vehicle and called 911. The employee stayed with the children until officials arrived.
Officials said the children were unharmed and were released to their mother. If convicted, Rahman will face a $500 fine and up to 30 days in jail.
