A man has been charged in the accidental shooting death of a six-year-old in Prince George County.
Raymond A. Brown, 20, was charged with putting a loaded weapon within the reach of the boy who got a hold of it and shot and killed himself after receiving a self-inflicted gunshot to the chest. Brown allegedly stashed the gun in a Spiderman backpack, where the first-grader discovered it.
He was charged with reckless endangerment, allowing a child access to a firearm and possession of a firearm by a minor. Brown was initially held on a $45,000 bond.
