The man convicted of killing a nun in a 2010 drunk driving accident got a sentence of 20 years in prison on Friday.
Carlos Martinelly-Montano, 24, was drunk and in the country illegally when he slammed his vehicle into one carrying three nuns. Martinelly-Montano killed Sister Denise Mosier, 66, and injured two other nuns. He crossed the center line and crashed head-on into the nuns’ car.
The accident was Montano’s third drunken driving offense and he was awaiting a deportation hearing when the crash occurred. Montano was from Bolivia.
