Fifty two people were convicted on guns and weapons charges after a crime sweep throughout a year.
According to the Department of Justice, fifty-one of those indicted pleaded guilty in federal court and the remaining person pleaded guilty in state court. All of those had been charged in May in a federal indictment after officials targeted areas in both Fairfax and Prince Williams counties.
Officials recovered more than $100,000 worth of illegal drugs, including crack cocaine, powdered cocaine, marijuana and various prescription pills; twenty one firearms and a ballistic vest in the Operation dubbed “Operation Blue Haze.”
Three of those convicted have been sentenced while the remaining are scheduled to be sentenced throughout the next several months.
