Twelve people have been indicted in what officials said is a large-scale cocaine trafficking ring, bringing narcotics from Mexico to Virginia.
According to Neil MacBride, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, 41 people have already been convicted in connection with this alleged ring, which was funneling the drugs into Prince William County in northern Virginia.
These cases are part of an ongoing federal investigation officials have dubbed “Operation Springfield Snow” that began in Nov. 2008.
According to officials, the alleged ringleader of the operation, Gregorio “Goyo” Delgado-Salinas, a 27-year-old from Alexandria, is among the indicted. The AP reported Delgado-Salinas pleaded not guilty at an arraignment on Friday.
